I'm thinking of joining Toastmasters. If there are any here, will you show yourselves and give me some info on what it's like? I know I can look online and find a website, but I'm interested in what being a TOASTMASTER has done for you, how has it enriched (word???) your life??
My uncle is a Toastmaster and sings praises all the time. He had a serious studdering problem all through his life, and now he has become one of their finest speakers. Its a real hoot to hear him tell about all the great success stories and just the times of going out and being with other people. Not that they dont, just that they're young (they=he and his wife) and should be out meeting and greeting people so, its good for many reasons.
I had thought about it at one time but, eh..not that big around this immediate area.
thank you very very much for your input :-)
Prior to retirement I was an active member of a Toastmaster's group. It was a rewarding experience, and was an opportunity to keep my public speaking skills tuned-up.
i went to my first meeting this past tuesday - i liked it.
