All animals have a brain but why do human beings possess mind in addition to brain? Is mind stored in the DNA? If not, why?

Are you making some assumptions here? How do you know that you are not the only being with a mind and the rest of us are just reacting to your mind? How do you know if animals don't have minds?

I have seen animals do things that I had never considered them being capable of doing. Ever seen that tiger viral video on youtube? The one where he was raised as a young tiger then release into the wild. A year later the two guys that raised the tiger went to check on him in the wild. The tiger when running up to them and hugged them with it's paws. It almost looked like it was going to attack but it was happy to see them.

People say that animals have short memory. Well obviously this tiger recognized them and didn't see them as threats of any kind. When most people told them before they went that the tiger would have re-assimilated into the wild and not recognize them at all.

I don't think we ever give animals enough credit. We just assume they work off pure instinct and have no reasoning or memory. More and more research shows that animals don't rely on just instinct.

Brain is a concept of a physical reality, and mind is a quasi concept of a moral reality, which as an infinite cannot be known, or conceived of properly...

Many animals posesses what you call "mind", it's just that they havn't a need/learned to express their mind. Many animals in test have shown to be highly intelligent and fully on par with humans in "mind", just that they don't have any ability by their own to adapt higher learning as such, through schools and such.
