NASA was conidering sending canaries into space to study them under zero gravity. The project was scrapped when someone realised that in spite of having sufficient water supplies, they could die of dehydration within a few hours. Why?

Those little bird water bottles wouldn't work in zero gravity.

Birds need gravity to swallow.
Humans can swallow upside down, birds can't.
Trivia, not a riddle.(It's cool trivia though.)
