Remy wandered the backstreets aimlessly. 'How could he have gotten so lost?' He stopped at the end of the alley he was in. It was lit by a single street light and dead ended into a building.

"Hello?" he called. Surely there was someone awake even at this time of night? The windows remained dark. To his left was a staircase leading up to what looked like the back door of a pub. He cautiously mounted the stairs in the dim light and knocked on the solid wooden door. "Hello!" he called again, "Is anyone in there?" There was still no answer. He sighed and decided to try the dark alcove to his right. He hopped the stairs and landed clumsily on the cobblestones a few feet down. A slight breeze stirred sending chills down his spine. 'What was that?' Remy whirled around scouring the dark behind him. He was certain that he had just heard a noise. His heart was pounding in his chest and every muscle in his body was tense. He stood motionless for several minutes watching and waiting. When nothing appeared he relaxed a little.

"Get a grip on yourself Remy." He chided himself laughing nervously. Remy turned his attention to the dark entryway before him and taking a deep breath started towards it.
**********
The creature watched from the darkness of the alcove in the dead end. He had been following the young man for some time now as the poor soul wandered hopelessly lost through the maze-like backstreets. The scent of the man's blood was intoxicating. It called to him the way a seductress calls to her lover. He inhaled deeply from his dark hiding place savoring the aroma mere feet away, his eyes half closed with pleasure. He watched in amusement as the man tried the door to the abandoned pub. The buildings in this area had been derelict for quite some time. There would be no one to come to the lost boy's rescue. He chuckled to himself and the man spun to face behind him. The creature watched the man stand frozen and alert. He would have to do it soon before the enticing scent attracted another creature such as himself. The man relaxed.

"Get a grip on yourself Remy." He heard the man say as he turned and started towards the vampire's hiding place. The prince of darkness stepped out into the small circle of light to meet his prey.

"Hello my pet." He said, a charming smile spreading across his face and revealing a set of razor sharp fangs.
**********
Remy had only taken a few steps when a man emerged from the dark doorway he had been about to investigate.

"Hello my pet." The man addressed him with a charming smile. Remy took a step back, instantly wary.

"Hello." He replied. The man was pale with raven hair. He wore all leather and a small cross dangled from his throat. His smile, though meant to be suave and reassuring took on a sinister quality as Remy noticed the fangs. He took another step back. The vampire noticed that the man looked like he was going to run.

"I do not mean to startle you but I could not help but notice that you seem lost." He replied. His silken voice had taken on a sultry, seductive tone. Remy couldn't find his voice to reply but instead found his eyes wandering further up the stranger's face to his eyes. He gasped. The violet orbs seemed to glow with a light of their own. It would be easy to lose oneself within their purple depths. He stared, entranced.

"Who are you?" he whispered. It was not what he had meant to ask. He sensed he was in danger and wanted to flee but his legs wouldn't cooperate. The stranger moved within inches of Remy. He reached out an alabaster hand and caressed the trembling man's cheek lovingly. Remy's fear dissolved instantly and was replaced by an inexplicable longing to be touched more by this man, demon or whatever he was.

"My name is Nicolai" He crowed. His head lowered toward Remy's neck and hovered there relishing the scent of the crimson liquid flowing just below the creamy surface of the man's throat. He could hear the rapid pulse as Remy's heart pumped feverishly, fueled by adrenaline. It was one of the most erotic moments of Remy's life and his arms reached up reflexively to wrap around Nicolai.

" Please." He whispered in a voice thick with desire. Nicolai barked a sinister laugh. He was thoroughly amused at the fact that Remy didn't know what he asking of the man holding him so intimately yet he begged for it all the same. Such was the vampire's hold over the man before him.

"Since you asked so nicely" Nicolai replied looking back up into Remy's yearning eyes and brushing away a stray lock of hair. "Come." He shifted his arm to Remy's waist and lead him under the dark arch from which Nicolai had appeared. A shadow loomed up behind them and Nicolai froze. Another vampire had appeared, lured no doubt by the siren call of the human's blood. Remy was completely in Nicolai's thrall now and barely aware of anything but the man beside him. Nicolai laid his prey gently on the ground and looked up at the intruder. His lips curled back into a feral snarl and he let out a low menacing hiss. This was his territory and he didn't tolerate trespassers?

Thank you. Very Happy I find vampires and other mystical creatures fascinating. I was going to edit out the cross but then I remembered Twilight. While the books are a good read even if they are quite a bit cliche, I do like how she dispels a lot of the 'myths' about vampires. So I decided to do the same with this photo manipulation and kept the cross. Razz Photomanipulation is very fun to do, you should definitely try it out. Very Happy
