Thanks for the info. Smile I knew the Falklands were part of Argentina since I recall the skirmish (was it really a war?) way back when. I actually had a penpal from there at one time! It was before the conflict too, so when everyone was saying "where the hell are the Falkland Islands," I already knew. Wink We only corresponded a few times though before things fell by the wayside.

Gee, I guess it was more than a skirmish. Just reading up on it. More than a 1000 men lost their lives. Sad

margo, You sure know your stuff. Look at the following link. The mountain that looks like Mt Fuji in Japan is not far from Puerto Montt, where we spent a day, and a couple and I took a taxi tour of the area. I'll post some pictures I took of the area. http://www.ompersonal.com.ar/CRUISE/cruise2/day05.htm

Thanks c.i., that was interesting.

It's not matter of knowing my stuff - I've never been to South America, BUT - I can Google! I've workd in information all my life - looking things up is second nature to me!
Is it too early to nag Caprice about not confirming my guess yet? Twisted Evil

I'll have to think of something to post - but I'm on holidays from Saturday.

A friend of mine is originally from Chile, so when I was searching out an image to use I thought I'd take a look at places from Chile. I picked Arica by random and the image of the cathedral kept popping up in my searches. I then discovered it was designed by Eiffel -- same guy who did the tower in Paris. Seemed an interesting one to go with! Smile

I vaguely remember another project designed by Eiffel, but it's in Lisbon. I remember we passed by on the bus, and our tour guide pointed it out to us. I don't seem to have a picture of it, but I'm sure margo can find it for us! LOL
