danon, Why is the street the "most famous in the world?" Did Mozart live there?

Famous streets- I was thinking Della Street, Perry Mason's assistant.... But it didn't look much like her.

Please educate us. I for one am certainly not an international street expert, but I've never heard of Getreidegasse. Why is it one of the most famous streets on Earth, if we're not from that area?

(Get-ridda-gassa sounds like it needs Pepto Bismol.)
