We were told that the Greek-Roman city of Jerash at one time had 25,000 inhabitants. The two Roman theaters we visited are still in pretty good shape, and while spending time in the southern theater, some young girls were singing. Those are the memories I treasure after returning home.
BTW, the picture of the gate is called "Hadrian's Gate" to honor Hadrian's visit in 130AD.
margo, Sorry, it's not Israel or Tunisia. I posted the location before I answered your q. Sorry. c.i.
Well, what was the location - Jerash? Your post is not clear to me?
c.i., If you give the answer before anyone's worked it out - it sort of defeats the purpose.
I had been looking at places in Jordan, but not Jerash, though!
So - as you gave the answer - I guess you're on again!
margo, I really screwed up on the last one by giving the answer, and I apologize. It won't happend again. But, if you would like, you can post a picture we can try to guess.
Yo, , c.i., I do not mean to infringe upon your next move, - - - however, here is a really average photo.
Where is the site?? Country and city and STREET?? You have to NAME THE STREET!!
HINT= It is one of the most famous streets on EARTH>>>>>>>>
My first wild guess would be Germany.
Is that a church at the end of the street?
Oh, this'll be fun. I have no idea.
OK, is this in Austria or Germany?
Definitely not Bourbon Street. Not eve LA>
Carnaby Street?
The Ginza?
I thought the most famous street on earth was the Champs Elysee, but I don't think it's that!
Doesn't look like ANY of the famous streets I can think of (Via Veneto, Las Ramblas, Champs Elysees, Nevsky Prospekt, Wall St, Fifth Avenue, Unter den Linden, Oxford Street, Regent Street, Baker Street, Sesame Street)
Oh yes, Getreidegasse SALZBURG
Yes, it is Salzburg - Getreidegasse.
