Is that where James Bond played whatsits, baccarat?
Sorry, kev - I won't underestimate you again!
Omar Sharif, the whale is how I first heard of this place.
i'm thinking, the castle is too dirty, in austria they'd neatly repaint the castle in authentic crispy white again each year <winks>
but, elsewhere in central europe? (central europe = roughly poland, czech + slovak, hungary, austria, slovenia, croatia ..)
Austria - no
Central Europe - say Eastern Europe, well spotted Nimh, but not the countries you mentioned
Austria, Croatia, Former Yugoslavia, Bulgaria - NO
Albania, Kosova or Macedonia?
Losing count of countries here! NOT:
Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia,
SO 15 to go
I'm sure that said YES when I posted it.
<grins>
I never been to Romania, so I cant recognize it ...
first city that came to mind was Brasov, just cause Ive heard its got old and monumental stuff, but that was just a random guess ...
So I got my ancient Rough Guide on Eastern Europe travel guide outa the bookcase - its got NO pictures, so i still cant cheat - <sulks> - but I open it on a random page - Eastern Carpathians - no, thats not right, different page - and it says "Around Brasov: 'Dracula's Castle'.
Hah. Thats too much coincidence. Its gotta be Brasov. Is it Dracula's castle?
That's right, it's Bran Castle, where Vlad the Impaler lived. I've been there, and it's pretty and cute and not at all scary! Not at all what you would think - look at draculascastle.com!
