kev, not to be rude, but I guessed Coney Island a while back.
well - wherever it is - it's one of the few places I don't feel the need to travel to!
I don't think this is Coney Island for some reason. But it is obviously urban & USA or Canada. North may not be the top of the picture. For some reason I'm thinking Atlantic City, but if that were the case there'd be casinos.
Yes, kev. If you look at the lower right side of the picture, you'll see more amusement park rides. I've never seen Coney Island from this view, but I remember some of it when I was there in the fifties when a couple of guys I met on my way to Morocco spent one whole day there drinking beer and getting drunk out of our minds. I was sick the following day, but had to report ot the BOQ to play bell boy to officers. I remember a general checking in, and the receptionist knew how sick I was, and told me to disappear. That was the first time I got so sick from drinking, and swore off drinking for the rest of my life. I lied.
cjsa, I just typed in "coney island" and got reference to an amusement park, coney island could cover 15 million acres for all I know, you must be saying that coney island IS AN AMUSEMENT PARK Ahhhh I think I see, I thought Coney island was like MANHATTEN, OR THE BRONX, OR QUEENS, OR STATEN ISLAND see what ignorance of geography can do?
kev, Coney Island "is" the location of the amusement park. You can get there by taking the subway from downtown New York.
cjhsa, you obviously had that one sussed out, o.k. sock it to us.
To be pedantic about it, Coney Island is a neighborhood (like Flatbush, or Brooklyn Heights) within Brooklyn, which is one of the five boroughs that make up New York City (the others being Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island). The Coney Island Amusement Park (often referred to simply as "Coney Island") is named for the neighborhood in which it's located.
Sorry to keep you waiting guy's.
It is Coney Island in Brooklyn NY, good catch cjhsa !
Again, pulled a straw out of my hat. I think the beach gave it away. Let me think and search for a minute.
Location, not just region.
Not Shasta, not California.
Not Pikes Peak, not Colorado.
The view is the clue, I want to know where the fishermen are standing.
Wonder Lake and Mt. McKinley, Alaska?
Is it the Columbia River ?
