Hmmh.

So it seems to be kind of European origin, but not Europe.

And I'm still thinking, it's Asia.

Googled and yahooed Malaysia and Goa - India is my choice now.

The tower in the middle could point to England ... or to a German prison Laughing

I know most of the latter and don't think, the other buildings to be in Great Britain either.

So: if Europe, SOUTHERN EUROPE?

And Southern Europe could probably be the Iberian Peninsula?

Actually, I have no idea Laughing

But it looks somewhat moorish - Spain, or a former Spanish colony/exclave in North Africa, perhaps.

So it only can be Portugal, Spain or Gibraltar.

Gibraltar - I don't thinks so.
Spain - you perhaps had answered otherwise

And I know nothing about Portugal .... Sad

Ah thank you Walter for doing the spade work! Now I see that it is a 19th century palace, Palace de Pena, in Portugal. Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled pepper in the Palace de Pena, Portugal!
