Poem: A homage to time

Time you're such a precious thing
You drift away like sand between my fingers
You come and go alluding recognition
So slippery I'm prone to losing you

Time I think you are virtuous, you are a healer
But you are wicked as well; sowing the seeds of decay
I think you impatient as you wait for no man
But please slow down, for we move to a different tempo

Time I wonder if you are endless, has the race no end?
I'm no theist but I believe you are a deity
You doll out death and life at your own whim
But I beseech you time please protect my memories

@Nameless 23232,
Hi,

I think it expresses your feelings very well. I very much enjoyed reading it.

@Nameless 23232,
i like it, it highlights mans lack of control over the one thing we try and grasp with dates and diaries, but it betrays us by losing our memories at our last breath

@Nameless 23232,
I take delight in imagining a schizophrenic repeating this poem over and over again.

You really are so nice. (But how do you know it expresses his feelings "very well"?)

Yes, lack of control, and more importantly in my opinion lack of understanding. We abide by our laws of time and we accept it's laws, that is that it will eventually take away your life and your youth.

Haha, yes that paints an amusing picture. I can see someone standing at a bus stop muttering this to himself(or herself) again and again.
