Summer is lying in the grass
and lying about how your sister looks in her new dress
a cool wind that softly touch your face
when you are working on your tan
freckles and have-to-find-a-dress-for-prom-panic
summer is eating strawberries and ice-cream
(and end up having half the ice cream in your face)
marshmallows, watermelon, lemonade and a bun
that's also very nice
summer is bathing in the sea
and get seaweed in you hair
the sweet smell of a summer rain
All of this is for free
(except the bun and the other stuff)
Summer is the best season according to me
Have an amazing summer!!:flowers:
@Lily,
Why am I moved so easily lately? This is a very gentle and delicate poem. It brought me to this:
Summer.
The fields of hay smell of all flowers,
A mighty choir sings in the poplars' leaves.
The wind's breath is heavy with fertilizer.
Green ponds are scary, teeming with life
(They once were clear on a day in March)
Frogs croak massively in the red night,
The basso continuo of an angel's song.
Clouds in August are tall ships in the sky,
Sailing on the tune of a lonely flute.
Her skin is near, prudently untouched,
Like the memories of our best days.
Have my love, Lily. You write wonderfully. I wish you many seasons :-) .
@Lily,
Was there ever a piece of music expressing summer more clearly than this? The golden dream of summer captured in the most enchanting of melodies. What is he doing, the great god Pan..?
But where are the Fauns in this age of drought? :-(
