This is something I was doing in class, before it started. It was an Economics class in a science classroom. This may be difficult, so it has something to do with science.

How are the letters of the alphabet arranged here?

BCFHIKNOPSUVWY

ADEGLMRTXZ

JQ

Happy solving.

First row are used on their own.
Second row are used in tandem.
J & Q are not used.

Good one Zex.

Not exactly. You are very close though. Perhaps I should have waited on the hint...

Don't understand what I'm missing.

First row are all symbols on their own.
Second row are all used in the 2 letter symbols (with another from either the first or second row)
J & Q are not used at all.

If thats not it can you give me a clue as to what I'm missing.

Your first row is correct.
Your second row could be more specific, to be what I was going for.
Your third row is not correct, if you count the higher ups, which I do. If you figure this out, you'll probably get the second row.

Ah, I was looking at an old chart (pre Y2K). Okay, so 114 has a Q in it.
Here we go then, (If this ain't it I quit!)

First row we know.
Second row are used as first letter. (but so are some of the the first row?)
J & Q are not used as the first letter. (J not used at all?)

How's that.
