The true story of James Braddock was interesting. A down and out prize fighter trying to support his family during the depression. Very good insight on what it feels like to be unable at times to provide for your wife and children and,,,at what lengths a man will go to to secure the basic necessities for the ones he loves. From menial work,,to begging from his friends. Eventually this man who faced the hardships and cruelty of a world void of compassion got his chance to provide for his family by prize fighting. not for fame and fortune,,,but,,,as he said in one of his interviews,,,for milk. Against all odds,,,James Braddock made it to the heavy weight championship and defeated the odds on favorite,,,Max Baer. Not too many role models these days. Not so you can see anyway on the tv or radio. But,,James Braddock was a good role model. not because he was a great fighter. but,,because there was nothing he would not endure for the welfare of his family.
