Maybe a month or so ago I read a quote that I'm trying to identify. I think I read it on
the Daily Dish, Andrew Sullivan's blog, but I haven't been able to find it there. It said something like "everyone is bound to act out his or her identity" or something to the effect of "people try to be to the world what they see themselves as."
I don't think the original phrasing went like that, and I've mostly given up on finding the original quote, but can anyone point me to a philosopher or author who said anything like that?
