On my tombstone it will read -

'Their dogma ran over my karma.'

How about: reality becomes mortality???

Or: If you love dead people, you will dig me....

@TheRedMenace,
I would like the one: "I was what you are; you will be what I am."

@William,
I have to stop drinking while I'm chatting. I happened to type this:

catchabula: There is but one pride
catchabula: There is but one courage
catchabula: There is no death for the brave
catchabula: History takes over where they left

Sounds pretty epithaphian though. "I didn't do it" (Bart).

(Ok, yes, you're right. I was the only one in the room. So what?)

@TheRedMenace,
"If you knew him, you'd be laughing right now"

Or

" 'I told you so' just doesn't seem to cut it this time."

Or

"If you're reading this, you have too much time on your hands. Go do something something productive!"

@Fido,
I once read about Sartre's distinction between the "En Soi" and the "Pour Soi". So I thought: why not a tombstone with just a large hole in it?

@Catchabula,
I'm on my way now. You can't come with me. But don't worry about me -- I'm happy. I'm always happy.

I like the or... If you have a head stone, why not a tail stone??? Write something on one side and on the back side say it is meaningless.. Which it is... We will live while others speak kindly of us, and beyond that point, we would be better off to have never been... We are all so into our little lives, and why not but for the fact that what we prize so often joins us in rot and has no lasting value... But if we can seize eternal values that our children and friend can enjoy, then we will be honored for many generations... Marx aside, posterity can do something for us, and we for it; and rather than be forgotten almost before being buried, we can be remembered, and that is a tribute...
