LW, is that a second quote from the movie or a more general hint?

Golly, have I stumped you? That was a general hint as I'm always putting quotation marks around quotes.

One more guess and I'll give another clue.

Hi all!!
I'm having some trouble being online,..my "new" laptop seems to have seen its last day,...I must send it back!! Twisted Evil

Anyway,..Lightwizard,..I believe the film you've quoted is "The Bicycle Thief",...an Italian film,..circa 1950 or so.
I saw it in a class when I was in college,..I'm pretty sure that's it.

Aha -- did you pick it up on the "peddle" clue? Yes, it is "The Bicycle Thief" when Lamberto takes his son into a cafe and only has enough money for a pizza.
