Spirited hallucination
You had it in your hands;
Synthetic rainbow
You saw it rising, and
While I wandered out on the moor for days,
You reached for the stars and prayed.

Material possession
Rendered with a brush and a stick;
You cut through the lies,
Manifest inspiration flying with a flick,
The result in pieces four days in the making
A wonder of colors, a deep undertaking.

Fabricated dichotomy
Widespread by the legions;
Counterfeit stories
Invented afflictions,
Belief flounders, spluttering and mourning
Followers they come dancing.

Volatile the addictions
Striking hammers on complexions;
Compulsive habits
Preconception of ecstasy livid and live,
Verging on the debauched, intoxicated high
Approaching destiny of ill health or insight.

Disco steps continuously
Soft shoes on a hard floor;
Hyper buzz in time
Tripping on pirouettes,
Shimmering twirls count the beats rocking out
Bounce and sway, music devout.

Shivering sojourns on streets
Rain on bus windows, steam drawings;
Feverish rambling
Toward warm homes, rooms and relaxed conversation,
Lasting memories, and days still not forgotten
Timeless adventures those repetitive crazed scenes.
