Or corrode, or whatever, if submerged in water for a while? Say, like 30 days?
My brother gave me a bunch of old D&D miniatures, and I'd like to try to re-finish them. Some are from the late 70's and worth a little bit I think. I was told to soak them in water to take the old paint off.
Thanks!
If you're trying to remove paint you should soak them in a strong solvent, like paint remover, mineral spirits, or spirit of turpentine, depending on the kind of paint used on the figurines. Water won't work.
Hmm, ok. Still curious about the rust though...
pewter doesn't rust, but it can become pitted. What's a D&D?
Dungeons and Dragons, a role-playing game system which has been popular for 30 years or more. Third edition D & D rules have been incorporated in pc role-playing games, and so the saga continues.
Thanks, Setanta and Max. Dungeons and Dragons? Heard about it, of course. Never quite understood role playing though. Closest I came was a game called SimSoc. in grad school. A group of students had a chance to redo society. They went the same way as we are going now, in spite of Letty's attempt to correct the mistakes.
Check the value of your pieces before you do any paint removal. They may be more valuable the way they are...
