West meets Reason
(a lament)
Ever I journeyed, but the progress I made was slow.
Then one day I met Reason, met Her honesty, wisdom, and power.
So I made Her my servant, my slave.
"God what a servant, what progress we're making!"
Or so I thought, untill my least fear found me...
For as a slave She decieved, and the Path was soon lost.
Then I depended on Her, and She was my guide.
"This is yet good, for She is wiser than I."
That hope I believed as I watched this unfold:
I became Her slave, and She became master.
In hope I submitted, but regret came soon after:
As master She proved an incompetent fool.
She lost us in places that no man should go.
That night I escaped, afraid of Her witless power.
When I awoke, I did not know where I was.
I must have ran far in the dark- I have not seen Her again.
I resumed my wandering, now aimless and wayward.
I mourn my great loss- both the Path and the Help.
For a good friend She'd have been, if I had but asked.
@NeitherExtreme,
With her I got what I got not
and she remembered what I forgot
so much she was I wanted lots
and she was fine while I was shot
Limber, lithe, lovely and haut
for every joy there was I taught
and for her life and love I sought
