Role Model Quotes

My father was an armchair philosopher - a self taught Irishman, sharp as a razor blade and very sadly missed.

Heres one of my favourite quotes of his :

Quote:
Some people are scared of life, some death and some scared of both

Another role model of mine (Norman Egan) had a great line

Quote:

Every saint has had a past and every sinner has a future

@andykelly,
My Nonno (grandfather in Italian) said, "Life is like a sh** sandwich, the more dough you have, the less sh** you eat."

One of my mentors had a very interesting thought on the prospect of devotion to the law profession, "You have to sell you soul at some point, but only you can decide the price." ironically, he is also a lawyer.

Here's one I heard a long time ago, but only recently have discovered to be true:

"When you are a child and just learning about life you think that "Art Imitates Life."

When you grow up to be a young person and become more sophistcated you think that "Life Imitates Art."

As you grow older and get a job you begin to realize that "Life Imitates F*rt."

And then after you retire from your job and become a senior citizen you come to learn that "F*rt Intimates Life"!

I'm not dead yet.Laughing

@andykelly,
The following quote of Edmund Burke is my motto when I experienced a failure:
"He that wrestles with us strengthens our nerves, and sharpens our skills. Our antagonist is our helper." (Reflections on the Revolution in France)

"All is one and one is all...." I don't know the original source of this, but I know it's not Led Zeppelin....
