What do I reckon? That these macho games are another form of one bully-upmanship. That they hold no social or cultural value whatsoever. That the only thing one can learn from these exercises is whomever is the biggest bastard wins.

How many steps is this from beating up gays? It's hard to say. But I bet they have some kind of correlation between these two violent practices.

@tsarstepan,
I whole-heartedly agree with you , tsar.

These all boys schools (I mentioned earlier) were trade schools. Many of the (just about all male teachers) would have thought such games were fine.

I don't think you'd want to be in that environment if you were a gay student, trust me.

Luckily most of such institutions are a thing of the past. I certainly (as one of a handful of young women teachers, at school #1, anyway) had to toughen up considerably to continue work there. A very confronting experience.

@farmerman,
Glad you cleared that one up, farmer. Wink

@msolga,
My sister did a group tour of Australia. The bus passed a group of teenagers around some kind of fountain. One looked up and said something like "Look! Yanks!", so they all jumped into the pool.

I've no idea why I was reminded of this.

Why do you find this strange?
That is the proper reaction to a bus load of Americans... is it not?

sack-tagging I have just now heard of. Sounds kind of "gay". I wouldn't be caught dead tagging someone's privates, that's just me.
