All of a sudden when I use my word processor (MS Word) the menu in the upper left corner has stopped listing the four most recent documents. Confused Normally, these would be listed at the bottom of the menu.

This is a nuisance both because it means extra steps when I want to work on something, and because it bothers me to have something not working as it ought. Rolling Eyes

Is this a common problem? I never encountered it before, but of course that doesn't mean it doesn't happen. And, more important, has anyone a solution?

Thanks.

Is there a little arrow at the bottom of the files menu? If so that expands the menu and they may well be there.

Anywho, I assume you are not confused on taht point and they really aren't there. So here are the instructions to return them:

Show or hide the list of recently used documents on the File menu
On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.

Select or clear the Recently used file list check box.
When the Recently used file list check box is selected, you can specify the number of recently used files that appear on the File menu.

Thanks, Craven. Your instructions worked fine, and my list is back in business.

I'll never know what happened, but as long as I got it fixed, I'm happy. Very Happy
