I had to add some additional memory to my computer recently. Now, the thing freezes upon start up. It doesn't even reveal an on-screen display of components detected. Nothing, just a green LED light (which flickers constantly) appears on the tower but nothing on the monitor. Moreover, I have to manually cut the power (unplug it) in order to turn it off. Because there's no image on the screen, I can't turn it off via the start button and the on/off button on the tower, is not responding. And all of this because I added some more memory? HELP!!! :-[

Its possible you have inserted the memory stick incorrectly. remove and replace. check you have it around the right way.
Its possible you have used the incorrect type of RAM. (DDR instead of DDR2 or vice versa.
Remove the ram you bought and reinstall the old stick
really there is not enough information in your post.
post tech specs for machine, what motherboard, specs for old RAM (size and type), new RAM (size and type).

@dadpad,
Sorry for omitting the technical details, I'm just not that savvy on computer terminology or jargon. Any rate, I removed the added memory module and retained the existing 256MB of RAM and walaa, started right on cue. Obviously I've purchased the wrong or incompatible memory module for my computer. Thanks for your comments, they were very helpful. :-/
