If I have a contract with my employer, and the employer doesnt follow through with items listed on the contract, do I have to follow through with the items that pertain to me? I manage a hotel and part of my contract is a bonus plan. My employer is refusing to pay me my bonuses. Part of my contract states that if I leave the company within a year, im supposed to repay training costs associated with my employment. If they are not willing to pay me my bonuses, will I still have to repay what the contract states that id owe if I left the company?
Figure out your bonuses and submit a bill to your employer. Keep a copy.
Tell him if he does not honor his contract, you will seek legal help in collecting in 30 days.
Is there another level of management or ownership you can talk to?
Keep your part of the contract. If you go in front of a judge it will look better.
How much $$ are we talking about here?
