Who spilt a whole cup of coffee on her macbook rendering it unusable.
The repairs will cost £500, or I could get a new one for £700...
It's 1.5 years old, and the upgrade is a lot better than this model now.
What would you do?
Is it possible I could sell the old one for parts on ebay? (The parts that work) Although, maybe I shouldn't sell the hard drive because it's got all my **** on it. I could sell the battery and the charger though.

@The Pentacle Queen,
I would definitely buy a new one then if the repair is that costly.
Check with a Mac repair if they indeed could use some parts. The coffee might
have leaked into all important components and all that's left is a complete
toss.
I know which parts are broken, it's the 'logic board' 'magsafe board' and 'airport card'. Whatever those are.
Thanks x

That's one of the disadvantages of a real keyboard instead of a virtual one (like on an iPod). Maybe the Apple iPad's will catch on with coffee drinkers
Ironically, I used it for music at a party the other day and kept it safe by wrapping it in cling-film. If only I'd left it like that!
@The Pentacle Queen,
I think there are plastic covers for keyboards that are contoured around the keys so it can be used normally and provides protection for the keyboards against coffee spills.
