Uma Thurman Motherhood Movie $131 Box Office Opening

Uma Thurman Motherhood Movie $131 Box Office Opening " It appears as if Uma Thurman does not have the draw that she once did after starring in some very successful Quentin Tarrantino movies, including Pulp Fiction, and Kill Bill. She recently agreed to star in another movie, “Motherhood”, in which she plays an overly stressed New York mother who just can not seem to control her crazy life. However, the movie was not as successful as many had hoped it would be, not by a long shot. The movie only pulled in an embarrassing $131 box office dollars during its opening weekend. This makes the movie one of the most unsuccessful movie releases featuring a big name actor or actress in the history of British Cinema.

It is estimated that less than twenty people watched the movie on its opening weekend. There are a number of reasons why the movie may have done so poorly. Many have speculated that the poor turn out may be because there was basically no dollars left over for advertising once the movie was created. The creators of the movie had largely banked on Thurman’s star power to recoup the money that they had spent in order to make the under-performing film.
There was no comment by representatives for either Thurman or the studio that put the movie out. The movie itself is a remake of a movie that was released in the 1980’s, a movie that was able to do much better during its opening weekend in the box office. The movie was not well received by critics either, who determined that the movie was under-budgeted and the story line could have been so much more with a few minor tweaks in different areas throughout the movie.

If you release a movie about a stressed out mother during the last weekend of spring break you deserve a crappy boxoffice take.

Seriously.

Motherhood : the mother of all flops?

Uma Thurman's Motherhood could go down in British cinema history as the great Easter turkey. A film about a stressed-out mother has been withdrawn from show after just about a dozen of cinema goers turned up to see it in its opening weekend.
The film, thought to have cost $5m to make, earned just over £40,000 when it opened in the US last October.
In fact, so bad was Motherhood's performance, that its entire box office takings for its debut Sunday was £9, meaning just one person actually paid for their ticket.
The producers had limited the film's UK release on March 5 to just one cinema in London's West End in the hope they could create a positive word-of-mouth campaign.
But that tactic certainly backfired.
The film is no longer being shown at a single cinema across Britain. Indeed, it has sunk so quickly and untraceably that, it has not even left a ripple.
