I dont really want to discuss how awesome the books were, so much as the philosophies that made the books what they were. Do you believe in the philotic theory? DO you believe in aiuas? DO you believe in Demosthenes' Hierachy of Foreigness? How do the different sentient species compare to one another, and which is the wisest or most ignorant?
DISCUSS!!!
Not read them for decades. I suppose I should really as they were pretty damn good I seem to remember.
Sort of with Heliotrope... It's been too long since I've read the latter part of the series.
The original short story/novella, Ender's Game, kicks butt. Everything else waters it down.
Same here. I read these books years ago and loved them, but have forgotten much of the philosophy involved.
As such, it's difficult to follow your command to "DISCUSS!!"
Maybe you can summarize the philosophies and then we can dance for you.
_Enders Game_ was the best. The others were decent enough, but just seemed to belabor the point.
Best Regards,
Well they were really two different parts, enders game and then the other 3
Enders Game kicked ass in a very different sense that the other 3 did.
theres too much going on though to really explain in a short post (i dont have too much time right now) but ill explain later when i do, in the meantime, read the books again, trsut me youll like them more the second time then the first, it all ties together better
Ok, then I have a recommendation for a read as well: _The Last Dancer_ by Daniel Keys Moran.
It's my favorite of all time. And I've read a lot
Have fun
