2012!

An ancient civilization in the Americas invented a calendar which was pretty precise. They had cycles within cycles. A certain number of days equaled a year, a certain number of years equaled another cycle. Their scholars plotted the calendar out through many cycles and the last of these cycles ends in the year 2012. Some people say that this is because the world is expected to end according to this ancient civilization which no longer exists. Most thinking people say that the scholars figured someone else would plot out the succeeding cycles once they got here. Since they aren't here, none have.
