speaking of scary...

my soup seems to have stabilized me to where I am not totally dizzy. I think Ima go try and salvage a little warmth in the shop stove, and do some wiring of outlets. bubba will snuggle me back if I fall down. she stays perched on her army blanket next to the stove.

got me a coconut popsicle for dessert if I can get on over the hump. I always think of Boida and her fudgsicles when I eat one...

one lousy wobbly step at a time, but we are marching forward.

@Rockhead,
Soup and stable is acceptable.

The coconut popsicle sounds ... radical!

@ehBeth,
I had to stop and buy some fruit as we came home (and Dink was out of wet food, dog forbid)

the coconut ones and the akai blueberry ones are tasty. got some frozen dark cherries, too.

bedtime snacks, as long as I'm not cold...

@ehBeth,
given my choice, I would live far far away from here. but. I get no more choices, and things will never be the way I'd have them be.

so I live on my little patch of dirt, and make a fairytale garden to keep my sanity. my guppies are developing nicely indoors. and I try to interact with the natives on my terms as much as possible.

on that note, Ima go play in the shop. it's too late and I'm too wonky to start cutting the truck apart, but I have a coupla hours of electical work I needa do. good weather the rest of the week. almost not freezing at night. almost...

g'nite.

and thanks...

done for tonight...

still got yucky guts, and couldn't run to the road on a bet, but I got 4 outlets wired, and strung a bunch of romex with my new brads so it's all permanent and kosher.

and bubba is all purring and snuggly next to the coals. she appreciated my efforts, if no one else did.

gonna feed the fishes and snuggle in with the dink. too tired to try and restoke the house stove. I'll do it in the morning and see what the new day brings...

side note...

2 clerks, 1 at the dome hippo, and 1 at wally's.

2 did you have a nice christmas's, and one story of the clerks christmases past, including husband's miraculous cancer recovery. ( having smoky along exacerbates it. we look lonesome and too nice, I think)

I need a little sign discouraging small talk. that's what stinky cigars used to be good for...

got smoky's terlet working again.

he's like a kid sometimes...

I told him yesterday that I would put it in today. he said no, he didn't need my help, he would do it by hisself...

about 2 my house went totally quiet and dark. he was playing around in the main fuse box trying to shut down the well.

I gotta go pick up my saw with the new chain, and get him a new flapper valve. it works now, but it leaks pretty constant. I wish he'd tell me the whole story in one sitting, I do...

I find a few words, spoken very quickly in a mystery language, work nicely. Especially if I end on an up note - as if I was asking them a question.

(it isn't always a real language)

@ehBeth,
hmmmm. klingon might work...

but the guy at the chainsaw place won't be a problem.

and he probably speaks klingon, too...

the ladies at the bank, however, will just have to be accommodated. there will be no getting around it.

Just too sweet you are. Smile

But I figure there's enough salty in there to get you through it. Wink

@mismi,
ya reckon...?

new chain was long overdue. chainsaw now rips through logs like butter with sawdust...

tomorrow I will cut, split and stack a cord of wood. and finish cutting off hinges.

If I can get it all done, Friday I will haul scrap, and go over to the giant downed tree row I have rights to, and haul some big ol' hedge trees home.

I'm gonna go light the stove and wire some more outlets and stuff with bubba nut for a while tonight whilst my baked potato and chicken soup try to digestificate a little bit.

hoping to crash a little sooner tonight. 3 am is hard on my bones...

well...

I spose 2 is better than 3. but I got involved in cleaning out for my woodpile. and I wired the rest of the back end of the shop.

soon we will have grade A electricity. I'm sure glad I am not an electrician. but even more glad that I don't have to pay one to do this. I have quite a few hours tied up in stringing wire and stuff...

and I can store a months wood where its dry and I can get right at it whilst I work.

If my damned health will stay outta my way, I can see my way to being OK by summer. I have plenty of body and paint work to keep me busy and profitable. but I gotta string together some decent days first...

I left bubba squatted right next to the stove on her army blanket. I picked her up to snuggle, and she was hot to the point of smoking. silly little nutball...

@Rockhead,
Going to bed at 3:00AM sounds horrid. Is that just the hours you like to keep? Cuz...I would be messed UP! The only time I did stuff like that was when I was doing the insomniac thing. But I would wake up at my normal time - 5:00 - 6:00AM...that sucked too. I am more of a 10:00pm to 5:00am girl these days.

But I go through phases...still. I guess you never grow out of that huh?
Sounds like you are getting a lot done...me being me - (accomplishment driven I am) Sounds like a successful day. Smile

Take care of you. Hope you have a good day.

@mismi,
I get better as the day goes on, unless I don't.

on good days, I am most productive from dark till I quit. then I try to sleep. I sleep better if I'm a little physically tired.

then we get up and try it again. I usually sleep as long as I can. when I wake up, I start to hurt within minutes...

not moving nearly as fast as I woulda liked. hadda go back to bed and start over this afternoon. big headaches. kinda ok now, hadda can of chicken soup.

I really need to get to cutting wood, but I'm still a little dizzy, and the new chain is really sharp.

all things in their own time, at their own pace.

the woodcutter's zen...

@Rockhead,
You are a smart man. I would think cutting wood when dizzy is setting yourself up for ....well the unthinkable. yikes. Smile

Thanks for taking care of you.

@mismi,
no, if I were a smart man, I woulda paid my electric bill before I left for Dallas.

but I learn from my mistakes.

I used to work with a guy that had most of the tissue on his right thigh rearranged and sewed back up. garishly vulgar looking scar.

I got no time to be injured, I'm pretty careful now.

if not very productive...
