@mismi,
hi...

I've decided to address Jtt's statement...

he's right. I am technically not homeless. I'm not under a bridge like a guy I sorta know. or living in my car. the kid that works at wally's in the pharmacy and tries to help smoky figger out all his pills dropped that on us today.

how do you answer when a kid tells you he's living in his car?

I can say been there, done that. that doesn't help him. can't really offer him a place as a squatter like me in my makeshift dwelling. damn sure don't want a roommate...

I hope it's a cadillac or something big enough he can stretch out in. I did it in a camaro convertible, but I was a little nuts back then...

anyways, he's one of those little furreign looking kids that have trouble at the airport. that could make things harder on him.

here's hoping he has some friends to help him out...

on a side note, we are not currently auditioning for a villain on this thread.

just sayin'...

we have rounded the turn and are headed for the post...

remind me to quit letting snowplow guy buy his own parts.

crap crap crap. almost fits...

and if it firks up, it will be my fault. Rolling Eyes

gonna slow down and stop for the night soon. I'll need help lifting the dash back onto its pegs. that's hard to come by at this hour. impossible iff'n I want sober help...

it will vacate it's spot in the shop tomorrow. I might even work during the day time...

Now that I know all the **** that I took apart that dint need to come apart, I might do it again.

for double the ca$h that I got this time.

got the shop so warm tonight I hadda take off one of my sweatshirt and go at it in shirt sleeves. a definite improvement from where we were...

and got a coupla the ferals fighting over bubba's old spot next to the barrel stove. I think she might stick as #2 indoor kitty now. she's much better behaved after going semi-wild for a summer...

my internal clock is broken...

but Ima come out of it. called snowplow guy to see if he's planning on working tomorrow. he is. presidents day be damned.

so Ima drop off the S10 sometime before he wakes up. got the stove cranked up out there, but still looking for my motivation. I had Earache come help me lift the dash onto it's pivots. I can do the rest solo. lotsa wires to reconnect. and IMa use some spray foam to correct for the ill fitting chinese heater core, so it can't be damaged for lack of the support clamp that won't come close to going back on because they bent the tubes incorrectly.

the current state of replacement parts is almost criminal compared to my golden days at NAPA. a lifetime ago or two. back when I got up at three every day to toss 300 papers before having a donut and heading to my real job. I still occasionally wake up in a cold sweat thinking I've overslept and my route was gonna start my phone ringing all to hell.

goanna swap for the 4x4 and keep rolling. s'posed to be parts and a check in the front seat.

I dint work in the sunlight, other than us putting the dash in postion, but I sat out amongst the ferals and sunned myself while I talked to gram. her froggy voice is almost gone. she even did the church thing today...

I'm outta fruit posicles, gonna have to head into wally's tomorrow. smoky needs cat food and coffee, so we'll prolly take his car.

Tuesday I hope to take my truck to it's final resting place and get old gold ready for service. I needa find a better name for it...

@roger,
no, he plows with the 4x4. (3/4 ton silverado. 1989) and drives daily to a new temporary job 50 miles away. and cries that the S10 is at my place with the leaking heater core and it's little v-6 that gets 22 instead of 10 mpg.

I will be stuck with the gas guzzler again about 3 tomorrow morning.

@roger,
he is also the proud owner of the Nissan with the bad new motor. which we are waiting for the wheels to turn and the earth to move so we can get another one to put in and hope it is better than the other one.

he runs a lawn service when it's not snowing. this is Kansas, not Minnesoota...

brake cable and putting the seat back is about what's left.

it appears this is gonna be a late night, too...

havin' a pbj. peach if anyone's interested. and coconut milk.

Ima beat the sunrise, but not by much. the engine will still be warm when he takes off for work, methinks...

I vacuumed it out, and cleaned the dash while it was apart. he's not gonna recognize it.

done.

I'll hafta pull it outside and burp it before I turn it loose.

and now it's raining. Rolling Eyes gotta improvise plastic covering for the broken engine on a crate that I put in the bed to let him take it back where he bought it so they can ship it away.

bet I see another sunrise before this is all done...

@Rockhead,
Apricot preserves are even better. Stronger flavor to offset the peanut butter.

@ehBeth,
If I could now just figure out how to reset my body clock. I've gone full blown vampire now...

(I still eat a lot of garlic, and dislike the taste of blood)

today will be lump day. banks are closed, anywho...

tomorrow we will attempt another big project. and I am about outta wood again. the shop stove has a hella appetite when I get to working at night. think Ima get paid in wood this round with the 4x4. that would be best for all of us, methinks.

we have crocus popping out everywhere...

@roger,
my standard is apricot, Roger.

I was being a little quirky. I like the peach on rolls with butter.

but alas, both rolls and butter are now on "the list".

hadda start using up the peach...
