Answer 20 questions about your concept of God, the afterlife, human nature, and more, and Belief-O-Matic™ will tell you what religion (if any) you practice...or ought to consider practicing:

There you are :--> http://beliefnet.com/story/76/story_7665_1.html

I tried this a long time ago. I think I came out as a Secular Humanist. Then I had to look up what that was exactly Smile Seemed fairly accurate once I checked though.

It's a fun web site Smile

Thanks,

I concur with rosborne979 and in addition I can believe that Aristotle's God is a rational model.

My faith is apparently in "The Book of Change" but I believe something behind the phenomena.

Came out 100% Unitarian Universalist. Funny that it worked out that way. Some years ago, a friend of mine talked me into going to a Unitarian service. It was much too religious for me!

I'm a Mahayana Buddhist. I believe both Mahayana Buddhists and Theravada Buddhists believe in the same things, but express it differently, while Theravada Buddhism is more focused on self-liberation than liberating other sentient beings, Mahayana is on both self-liberation and liberating other sentient beings.

About Hinduism, I do not know why it tops the list too. Buddhism is more focused on removing suffering, and does not believe in Creator and gods, incarnation of gods, etc, there are many differences.

1. Theravada Buddhism (100%)
2. Hinduism (98%)
3. Mahayana Buddhism (91%)
4. Jainism (82%)
5. Unitarian Universalism (75%)
6. Sikhism (69%)

I believe in treating others as I wish to be treated myself. I was raised & confirmed in the Church of England (Anglican Protestant), but never found that church was 'of any use'. I tried praying and nothing happened - no answers to anything. So I gave up.

I don't need faith in any god/gods to get me through the day, so I don't bother. If I have questions or problems about life, I sort them out myself. I'm not bothered about what happens after I die - if nothing happens, I won't be aware, and if there is an afterlife, then as long as I've lived a good life then no god(s) worthy of the name would turn me away, even if I hadn't been a practising member of their religion (whichever one turns out to be true). I believe in evolution in all forms. As for where the universe came from - I'm not bothered because I wasn;t there and neither were any of us. I think it's much more important to worry about where it's going...

I strongly believe that anyone should be allowed to practice any religion that does not interfere with anyone else's life, and that includes 'no religion'.

I enjoyed reading your post.

It seems to me that you have chosen "no religion" to be your religion.

If that is your choice, go for it!

What a crock--this site is dedicated to defining the respondant. It categorized me as a secular humanist (100%), followed by a Quaker, fer chrissake. Note that the negative response to the earliest questions about a deity and about faith are lumped with a "or not sure" and a "or not important" answer. Seems to me the deck is stacked.

It also seems the site is dedicated to pushing "Dr. Weil's" products. Good for them, hope it sells well and provides some IT nerd a decent living.

How can having "no religion" be considered a "religion"?

Such distortions of meaning seem desperate to contain the freedom of reason under the yoke of faith.

The last time I did this I was Neo-Pagan and New Age. Now...

1. Unitarian Universalism (100%)
2. Neo-Pagan (96%)
3. Mahayana Buddhism (90%)
4. New Age (87%)
5. Liberal Quakers (84%)
6. New Thought (83%)
7. Theravada Buddhism (82%)
8. Scientology (80%)
9. Reform Judaism (73%)
10. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (71%)

I'm kind of bothered by the fact that scientology is in the top ten.
