Avatar finally killed somebody, allegedly. A 42-year-old man in Taiwan who'd previously suffered from hypertension reportedly passed away 11 days after seeing the movie in 3-D. According to the AFP, he began to feel sick during the screening and was taken unconscious to a hospital where it was discovered his brain was hemorrhaging. "It's likely that the over-excitement from watching the movie triggered his symptoms," says a doctor. If James Cameron has any say, you can probably expect to see that appear as an above-the-title blurb on Avatar's DVD case.

@tsarstepan,
Maybe the plot was just so new and original that he couldn't take the sheer awesomeness of it?

U know, in fairness,
if it DID result in killing him,
he ought to get some kind of a discount on the ticket,
(at least since he did not get to see the rest of the movie).

@OmSigDAVID,
Well they could bury a 3D version of the film on a Blu Ray disc and a portable player in with the casket when he's buried in a coffin.

@OmSigDAVID,
So then if you go to the movies, you pay the 15 bucks for a large tub of popcorn and of course the large soft drink (or water) and start watching the movie. If you drink this whole Large drink and then half way through the movie you have to get up and go to the bathroom, do you feel you should get a refund for the time you were in the bathroom? Seeing as how it was THEIR soda that did you in and made you miss that portion of the film?

If I were the theater owner, I would give him a free pass to another movie in compensation.
