My dog sucks on a towel for hours at a time. What is this behavior called and what does it mean? She is a GSP and 5 years old.

Does your dog's gums bleed? Maybe she needs to see the vet because of some kind of dental issues?

Some dogs and cats carry this on well into adulthood. I believe that its a response to being separated from mama early in life and its somewhat comforting to the dog. Do ya pet her enough?
