Google images... seemingly skipping a step.

Reply Fri 11 Dec, 2009 05:32 pm

this has been happening lately on the home puter (vista, IE7) --

i'm searching google images, find one i want to look at, click it, and...
it goes straight to the page that it is on, skipping the "See full size image" page

http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/636/googl.jpg

it works fine on the work puter, so i'm guessing it's browser-specific...

anybody know why it's doing that?
thanx...

so apparently the google images page works differently on different versions of windows/IE...

(A) here's how it looks on windows vista/IE7 --

http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/7003/googleimagesvistaie7.jpg

(B) and here's windows 7/IE8 --

Arrow does anyone know why it's different?
or how i can make it look like (A) on both pc's?
(it doesn't even display the same images, fer cripes sake...)

thanx...

@Region Philbis,
Could it be that you used dogs on the first and dog on the second?

The same will happen with XP and IE8.

It is because you did not use the same criteria for the search.

@Intrepid,

opps!
that does explain the different images in the search result, but not the way they are being displayed...

@Region Philbis,
This is Firefox. Weird. One of the kids updated it and it's gone crazy now

@Region Philbis,
Good point. Mine shows the 2nd in the same way as the first using the same search criteria that you did. As I said, I use SP sr3 with IE 8.

The difference is probably to do with Windows 7
