I just tried bing for the first time and like it - probably better than google...

It has a lot of nice features. I changed my default to Bing and use Google only when I choose to. It has not caught on like Google, but it will once people try it. Especially since Google has become so invasive.

Google Images Search new look is projected to reduce the total number of clicks it takes to find the image you’re searching for and to serve more information about a particular image without having to click through to the result.

Google also built a thumbnail preview that pops up when you hover over a given image with information such as the URL where it is located, said Ben Ling, director of search products at Google.

Marissa Mayer as vice president of Google search products and user experience, at Google’s San Francisco offices, said that, Google Images Search hadn’t received a major update since 2001.

@Region Philbis,
As you probably know by now, this is a new UI they launched for image search and what you were noticing in different browsers was likely a gradual rollout where some of your browsers had cookies saying to use the new UI and others didn't.

@Robert Gentel,

that does make sense... now...

google is concerned about the # of clicks it takes to find an image, but in doing so they increase the page height, which means more scrolling -- not necessarily a good thing.
the big page of images seems to take more time to load as well...

Those aren't bugs. They are features.

@Region Philbis,
I read that Google is rapidly losing market share. They are now 62% and dropping. Bing is rising rapidly.

Have you noticed that Google is mimicking a lot of what Bing does?
