He is alive and over 90 years old. I don't know how long the TV show played.

Waay too long. I think it lasted longer than WWII. The only thing good from that show was Tim Conway.

Ernest Borgnine made an important film "Marty" he the went off to earn a living in hollywood.

I always looked forward to his appearances in films. I never watched McHale's Navy. Flight of the Phoenix comes to mind - Many of his characters were a bit dumb, or nuts, or both.

He's alive and well and around 92 years old, he's recently written an autobiography. I'd say he's one of the most well-adjusted happy people on the planet after hearing him in an interview.

Any part he plays you don't see the character, you see Ernest Borgnine.

was that we always succeeded in defeating the Japs.

Apropos of exactly nothing, he's also a high-degree Free Mason.

Yes he was born in 1917 and very much alive, what a natural Actor, and played all his parts with his heart and mind, it was a pleasure to meet him .
