Silence from the talkative
Patience from the impatient
Kindness from the unkind
Tolerance from the intolerant
Paradoxically I am not grateful to any of those who taught me these lessons....
Before it's pointed out.... I don't claim authorship of this wonderful quote... I'm paraphrasing Kahil Gibran. Wish I'd thought of it though. It's perfect.
Silence, patience, tolerance..

sarcasm from the sincere
silliness from the serious

i have learned nothing
and i believe i learn less everyday
I've learned that the only thing that really matters is what I believe... and I believe it's after six and time for a glass of wine.

One of the lessons of history is that nothing is often a good thing
to do and always a clever thing to say -- Will Durant (1885-1981)

"silliness from the serious"- one of my favourite forms of transcendence
