A study was done with a electromagnet system made from a battery and wire wrapped around a nail. Different sizes of nails were used and the number of paper clips that the electromagnet could pick up was measured. What is the manipulated variable, responding variable, and three controlled variables.

@fashioncc8,
We don't usually do homework.

Manipulated variable = what you alter.
Responding variable = what effect you see.
Controlled variables = what you keep the same. (I'll give you one - number of coils in the wire)

@fresco,
Another controlled variable would be the current/voltage.
