DORNIER DO-X FLYING BOAT
this true monster of a flying boat was built in 1930 - it was propelled by TWELVE 600 hp engines and transported 150 passengers in great comfort

yes , and it's an interesting spot to visit !

another pioneer of early flight was the german OTTO LILIENTHAL who experimented with hang-gliders
the glider-wings were patterned after the wings of a STORK
this picture was taken 29 june 1895 - he died in a glider accident in 1896

these planes were designed to be able to land on very short runways ; they are also called CANADA'S WORKHORSES OF THE NORTH - though you won't see many horses in the north .

here are the hamburgers going shopping :wink:
we had about three feet of snow so far - IT'S ALL GONE !
the lawn is greener than in the summer - quite odd !

hbg, when I was a kid, I had an American eskimo named Sugar. (the second one was called Domino for that reason)

I tried my best to hitch Sugar to my sled. No luck. Razz
