what is the difference between plasticity and elasticity

@eankrumah,
Let's say you pick up a lump of play-doe and you stretch it, but after putting stress on it the object does not recoil back to the position before you applied stress to it. that's plasticity. then do the same thing to a rubber band, where it returns to the same position prior to having stress applied to it. that elasticity.
