We are in 20 february 2002 and Lee's father decided to give him 5 euro every Wednesday and 10 euro for his birthday.His birthday is in 29 february.
Lee wants to buy a video game which costs 54.35 euro.
At which date (dd/mm/yyyy) he will be able to buy it knowing that:
Every Monday he buys a magazine with 2 euro.
Every 10'th of a month (10 february,10 march ..) he buys a magazine for 4.50 euro.
Every 31'th of a month he buys a CD for 14.20 euro.

Have fun.

No, it doesn't.

Yearly income without birthday money - 260 euros
Yearly spending - 257.40. (The 31st is only 7 months per year)
Income from birthday 10 euros every 4 years.

But "Never" is the correct answer. By the time he has enough money the game will be obsolete.

Maximum time a video game will be on the market - 6 years.

Of course, he could buy the game for 5 euro in the bargain bin after about 3-4 years.

Without taking this in consideration,what is the exact date when he will be able to buy the video game?Even if it is over 20 years Smile

@rohtarantula,
The question is whether he has to have enough money left to buy a CD on the 31st. That will make a huge difference in when he can buy the game.

My suggestion is he gets a job when he turns 14 and buys the game in a week.

@parados,
Assuming Lee's last birthday was his 3rd, then he will get the game on his 6th birthday since it is the first date he will have enough money to buy the game and still have enough money for his other expenditures as required.
