Windows movie maker - help!

I'm not sure what is up with this program, but whenever I render a video (if I use my webcam, or any external video file), it formats a green block thing underneath the video feed. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQ9KvKfd9Qc

Does anyone know how to fix this? It's the bane of my life at the moment. thanks!

Also, does anyone have any recommended replacement software?

@RealEyes,
Try this in Movie Maker:

Tools > Options >"Compatibility" tab >uncheck "XviD MPEG-4 Video Decoder" filter > Press OK

See if that fixes it for you.
