I like watching DVD's on my computer. I use WinDVD 9. There is only one thing that I can't figure out. If I try watching a movie on Windows Media Player or Real Player I get the movie but with no sound. There is no problem with sound using the WinDVD player! Any ideas on why?

is WMP's mute button off?

@Region Philbis,
The mute button is off and the sound turned up. Still no sound. The WinDVD player is fine with me. I'm just trying to find out why the WMP sound will not work. If I put a music CD in the sound works on WMP.

It sounds like the problem is related to a codec, sometimes sound and video operate on different codecs and the easiest way to solve it is likely to install one of the many "codec packs" that can be found for free.

open your volume control all the way and make sure the Wave volume is turned up as well as any of the other channels in there.
