Letty says ity beautifully
And beautiful is our Letty
She knows when to stop
When to let it be
And when to give it all, oh so thoroughly
She knows when to wait
For the other shoe to drop
And then to gently pick it up
And put it back on top.
Even ties the strings in mid air.
Sweeping rain across the rooftops;
Wind knocking the fences down:
With eyes and hands like a cyclops,
The storm rambles through the town.
Thank you, jjorge.
And who puts the "light" in delightful?
A friend whom I've missed seeing here.
Diane, for my eyes you're a sight full.
And as cool as Debussy's "la Mer"
Wedding bells,
We're all in hell,
mom is planning things...
Brother and Bride
Side by side
with mother interfering...
Clouds
CLOUDS
I recalled pleasant childhood hours spent
identifying the cloud shapes floating overhead,
deciding whether they were jungle animals,
exotic rose vines, medieval castles, or
the faces of old folks from my neighborhood.

More clouds
MORE CLOUDS
I stared at these new clouds in my old age,
trying to recapture the imagination of my youth.
But the earth's spin rushed the clouds by too fast
and the shapes curled and twisted so rapidly
that I could not connect them with anything
from long ago or to anything the future held.
I could only enjoy their beauty briefly
before the next rain storm came thundering in.
A too brief respite of contentment.

The Colors of my Life
THE COLORS OF MY LIFE
In my youthful blue fantasy period,
my creative mind was awhirl with
artistic and inventive ideas
to catch the wind in a gossamer net.
Philosophical idealism,
and boundless physical
and mental energy convinced me
I could weave ropes of tawny sand.

More The Colors of my Life
MORE THE COLORS OF MY LIFE
Now, in my mellow yellow period,
in my heart I still support idealistic warriors,
but have put my crusades behind me.
Cautious planning for a shrinking future
leads me into more sedentary,
but intellectually stimulating pursuits.
These I can handle.

Immaturity
IMMATURITY
When in doubt, pout.
When no result, sulk.
When ignored, bored.
When discovered, recovered.

Croakers' Trek
CROAKERS' TREK
A knot of toads untied itself;
drawing shiny ropes of slime
along a willow tree branch
overhanging a sylvan pond.

Cav! Love it. Now that's what I call powerful compression.
A step in the time of fruitless endeavor
Reminds us that we are not forever.
