First step for mankind...oops...what did I step in?
Wait
a movement in yon shadow
It both slithers
and floats
in the light
it's a different shade
could it be
the legendary doo doo
that Edgar made?
be afraid
be very afraid
The conspiracy code:
The ship that he rode
Was a Hollywood bit
There was no moon ****
Pale orbs exposed
In lunar light
Mock me
I am fully mooned
Way up above, was a dim lit light
hiding serenely away in the night
it flickered many times upon the stars
as it kindly blinked out an S.O.S from Mars
zzzzzz says the greenhead,
breaking the warm lazy calm.
melting in the summer sun,
I stir and swish my hand.
awakened, I listen to the breeze,
feel hairs dance on my skin.
a distant crow's call lulls me to sleep.

You have quite a way with words. Good evening.
Sunset approaches on a summer's day
ice tinkles in a glass, the scent of lime
cigar smoke mixes with salt air
the whir of the blender in the kitchen
why thank you. Chalk it up to cabin fever adn being in the right side of my brain. The wine prolly doesn't hurt either. Good summer's eve to you too, EB.
Your words sound good to me too, littlek.
Thanks Colorbook. I haven't been down to the cape much in th last couple years, I plan to change that in 2004.
The whisper of summer a long way away
the tropical breezes are frozen today
the furnace is blasting, feigning the chill
while I ponder the size of my winter gas bill
They flew toward each other rapidly, as if to
collide, when at last, they extended
their talons, grasping tight and began to spin,
faster and faster, intertwined.
The eagles spun, plummeting to earth,
defying death as the earth held its breath.
Time slowed as the pair continued their wild
dance, a prelude to mating, an ode to the joy and
thrill of life, spinning, plummeting, as eternity
lay waiting.
At the last moment, their talons released
and each soared in separate paths back to the top
of the sky in airy aisles, the huge, powerful
wings slowly carrying them upward.
Calling, signaling, floating gracefully on invisible
thermals, rulers of the skies,
they circled the canyon then veered to the east,
following the wind to darkening far mountains.
Then on the wind I heard a fading, wild screech.
And the world remembered to breathe.
The wind came rushing through boughs of pines
while I stood there panting, gasping in great
gulps of air. I trembled in memory of the endless
time, those brief, wild moments, feeling
exquisitely alive.
I remained there, not wanting to talk or describe
the scents, the air brushing my skin, the thrill,
but to rest alone and feel the soul piercing
beauty of the memory, knowing I was blessed. Alive.
That's beautiful, Diane; I like it a lot.
Diane
You've outdone yourself. That is not just good - It's outstanding.
Diane, very nice, your happiness has truly inspired you.
Pesky leaves
Pesky leaves!
The fallen leaves and I are in a war,
I sweep them away from my white front door.
When I'm not looking, they sneak up the walk
to my front door, my efforts they do mock
my daily chore to keep my home neat
from all the leaves blown down the street.
They wait until the door is open wide,
then stealthfully they charge and swoop inside.
Their fate is to be crunched on the tile floor
by my shoes or Maddy's paws forever more.
Thanks all, for the kind words. I'm not quick, but at least I get one out once a year. LOL
