@Foofie,
There is a lot of German words in English:
In a teaching project I had to come up with some words and write it and made up this story, partly based on facts:
1.
Some ladies in Berlin, Wisconsin meet on regular basis to enjoy kaffeklatsch and have some apfelstrudel and other delikatessen and coffee. They refuse to drink ersatzkaffe. The cakes they used to buy in „ Cafe Schatzl“ which does not exists any more. It is very gemuetlich when they get together.
Sometimes they talk about their sturm and drang days. They show achtung for some people and sometimes schadenfreude for others.
They also talk about bildungsromane . Often their discussions turn into gedankenexperimente. None of the ladies suffer under torschlusspanik. Sometimes they discuss their weltanschauung. In their gardens they have even planted edelweiss.
No one has ever driven on the autobahn in Germany.
Often they chat so much they have to serve something fast for dinner like noodle and schnitzel for their families when they get home.

2.
Once in a while the families get together and then they serve frankfurter, bratwurst, wiener, sauerkraut, pretzel, pumpernickel and lager and sometimes schnapps or riesling. The beverages they used to buy at „Der Schnappshaus“ but it closed some years ago.
The average annual subscription to an American weekly in German only runs between $30.00 and $50.00. Some offer discounts for seniors and special offers for subscribers in the nearby area, making the American editions even more affordable. Most also offer six-month or other shorter term rates. So Mrs Schram subscribes to „Amerika Woche“
Mrs Schram is a member of St. John Lutheran Church which was founded in 1852. She has cousin who is a member of St. Paul`s Lutheran church outside of Berlin founded 1855. Both of these churches had only German services until about 1920. She has another cousin who is a member of Grace English Lutheran Church, the first German background church in Berlin to have services only in English.
Wisconsin became the 30th state in 1846.

3.
Mrs Nolte who lives on Kaufman Road has two children in kindergarten. They are of course wonderkinder.
She moved from Heidelberg, Pennsylvania to Berlin. She is not related to Nick Nolte.
Mrs Rohr, who lives on Schuster Road likes to bring her dachshund, which is a real dumkopf. Luckily he has no dobbelgaenger. Her house is full of kitch and she tends to schmaltz and weltschmerz.
Mrs Hess has a schutzhund. She lives on Kettle Street. Mrs Hesse is also a meister in playing glockenspiel and she admires a heldentenor lieder and their leitmotiv which sometimes narrows her weltanschauung and is not much of a zeitgeist.
Mrs Kreuter has a dobberman because the family lives in the hinterland of Berlin where they have a farm. She and her family are good friends of Dr. Bob Ehlen, Pastor at the Lutheran Church „Solid Rock“ in Anoka Minnesota.

4.
Mrs Smith who comes from UK still can feel angst when she thinks about the blitzkrieg. Her English is naturally very good so she often writes festschriften. Her son has a windjammer together with some of his friends.
Mrs Smith and her husband like to visit Kiel in Wisconsin. Of course they will take part in the Kiel German Day - June 8, 2007
Mrs Steinmetz, who lives on Leffert Street. She has a poltergeist in the house. .
For breakfast she serves her family muesli or bagel and zwieback.
She is a real hausfrau. She always says „Gesundheit“ when someone sneezes.
She was born in Manheim, Pennsylvania.
For Mrs Fass dust in the house is of course verboten. She hates when something goes kaputt. She knows her eigenwert. This lady also likes to hike and she always takes along her rucksack and often wears lederhosen. She has a lot of wanderlust

Foofie has some ways to go before she's at the same level as Foxie on condescending insults. It'll be fun to watch her 'grow.'
