If a order/judgement is made for arrears and ongoing child support, and the payor has no income due to loss of job, what measures are taken to get access to funds. In this case, the mother will be ordered to pay arrears and ongoing support, can the courts put a lien on the house which means if it is sold that the child support arrears are paid first before any proceeds go to the mother.
Also, does it matter that the father is a multi millionaire with several numbered companies where his money is hidden and if his average yearly income is close to $350-400K. Mother's income would be roughly $60K.???
How did the court set the on-going fee? There must have been some kind of financial paperwork submitted to set the amount to be paid. (Yes, some people do hide financial worth and cash transactions on purpose so they don't have to pay child support)
Now, getting them to pay is another matter. You must keep this issue in front of the court. Around here we have a Friend of the Court office which handles cases and acts as advocate/mediator for all . disputes, including setting and collecting child support. Do you have such a service? If not, you will have to get a lawyer to bring this in front of the judge as often as possible. A warrant for his arrest can be issued if he is in default.
