Frozen/Fresh Turkey

I just saw a lot of turkey ads in our local paper since Easter is arriving soon. It got me to thinking, How can the stores sell turkeys as being fresh when they were frozen in storage? In my local market some turkeys that were supposed to be fresh were half or more frozen in the display case!
