These little squares appear from time to time, and I think they relate to documents prepared in Word>Tables format and sent to me as an email attachments. They hang around and make it very difficult to adjust indents, tabs, etc. How can I get rid of them?
@Tomkitten,
Are they only present on the horizontal toolbar when you are in the table?
If so, those are normal.
I'm not in Tables on my own, just in Word I'm on the receiving end of a document put together in Tables on another computer, and whenever I try working with that document I think the Tables format must kick in and trump the adjustments I want to make.
This is an ongoing problem; at first we couldn't figure it out, but I think I've narrowed it down to only received Table documents. I don't know whether this would happen with documents done on other machines or if it's just a fight between hers and mine.
This is a bridge news report so there is text as well as the list of winners/scores. I can't persuade the preparer to use Tabs or set up a Tabs template. The Tables format she sends is driving me bats.
